Spring Lake Park Lions Give Achieve Clean Laundry Detergent to Local Homeless Programs

Delivering detergent to Stepping Stone Emergency Housing

The Spring Lake Park Lions Club has found a way to double their impact this Christmas. For the second year in a row, the Lions Club is supporting people with disabilities and local homeless populations with a single donation – of Achieve Clean Laundry Detergent.

Achieve Clean Laundry Detergent is a business created by people with disabilities with 100% of profits going to support Achieve Services, Inc. and other programs to help people with disabilities find employment. The Lions purchased Achieve Clean and donated the 100+ bottles that they purchased to three local homeless programs: Stepping Stone Emergency HousingHope 4 Youth, and Family Promise of Anoka. These organizations host families and individuals who face homelessness and economic hardship and provide resources to help them achieve greater independence. Laundry is an inevitable part of independent living and this donation creates one less expense for these individuals and organizations.

When Achieve workers delivered the detergent to these programs, participant Scott B. was so moved that he kept saying “I am so blessed to be helping these people.” He was very proud to be delivering the detergent that he helped make to people who could really use it this time of year. This is a great example of people in Anoka County helping one another by supporting organizations that give back.

The Spring Lake Park Lions Club is a community service organization that gives back to Spring Lake Park and surrounding cities through charitable gambling. Last year they gave over $155,000 in charitable donations to schools and non-profits. The four organizations that are supported by this gift are greatly appreciative of their generosity!
